How Many Files Are On RedRelay?
(top)
As of February 27, 2008 the file statistics stand as:
Video Files: 131
R3D Files: 10
DPX Files:
9
TIFF Files: 14
Total Files: 164

How Do I Get A Red Owners Login?
(top)
To get a login set up in order to upload, email us with your Red serial number and preferred password. We are currently accepting login requests from people who have their Reds and people who are going to receive their Reds the next delivery date.

Can I Get A RedRelay Login if I Don't Have My Red Yet? (top)
We are only giving accounts to those who meet these requirements:

1) You have actually received or are about to receive their Red.
2) Are working on a production that has given you permission to make your files public.
3) You have been consistently working with a red camera and have permission to upload the footage from said camera.

As we see it, there is no reason for you to have your own RedRelay account when you don't have any Red footage to upload. Red Owner Logins are only for those who have Red cameras and have shot footage to share. Even without an account, you can access the site publicly to view footage shot by others by simply going to www.redrelay.net.

How Can I Upload a Clip?
(top)
Using an FTP client, login using the information given to you by the RedRelay team. Most FTP programs support drag and drop for ease of use. Process for uploading clips may vary depending on software used. We suggest SmartFTP for Windows and CuteFTP for Mac.

How Can I Download/Watch a Clip? (top)
First, you need QuickTime. Windows users may not be able to play all clips as a Windows version of the Red codec is not available at this time. So, get a Mac!

1) Select the clip you want to download. Click "Download" icon to the clip name.
2) Click the icon to watch (beware of clips over 720p not fitting in your browser window).

If you wish to donate a reasonably current Mac to RedRelay in support of it's free services, feel free to do so or contact us about giving a donation!

How Can I Open a DPX file? (top)
You need Adobe Photoshop or a free application such as RenderNan's DPXViewer.

How Can I Open an R3D file? (top)
You need to download RedCine from the Red website. You can get it here: www.red.com/support. Best to have a Mac for this- or a really good PC.

Can I Hotlink to A Video Clip from RedRelay? (top)
Yes! Now you can! Of course, hosting credit is always encouraged. Feel free to use this code to get the link image:

What About Bandwidth/Space? (top)
We have 15,000GB of transfer a month. What that comes down to is that RedRelay can host ANYTHING- EVER. If you can dream it, you can do it.

Browser Compatibility (top)
All major browsers have been tested and approved on Windows, Mac (and some forms of Linux) except Netscape- which we haven't tested at all. You shouldn't be using that though. Get Firefox or Safari.
